About us

It all started with a shoulder injury.  Now, a stiff shoulder doesn't stop you from enjoying fitness classes, but it surely makes pulling your stretchy top over your head afterwards painful and difficult!  So, the idea to add a zipper to workout tops was born.

Andrea Reese, the founder, had no previous background in creating clothes - in fact, her background is in engineering and market research.  However, creating a workout top with a zipper was so important to her that she spent several years researching fabrics and construction and consulting experts in design and manufacturing in San Francisco, where she lives, before launching Zippytops.  Drawing on the best, she has produced the comfy, stylish Zippytops you see today.
